Feeling sad about yesterday's tragedy. Played Christmas music in the car today when I went to a friend's Bead for Life party. It was very uplifting to see what these Ugandan women are doing to make their lives better. Give your loved ones a hug today!

  1. Good morning SGD! It's a gloomy, rainy day here in Southern Ontario, but it's warm, and at least you don't have to shovel rain! Looking forward to some sunshine this afternoon. Today will be filled with gift wrapping and baking for me! Cheers!

  2. Yesterday, I got together with a group of girls that I have known since elementary school (and I can't believe how long ago that was!) There was 10 of us there, and not everyone could make it. It's amazing to me that so many of us have kept in touch for so long. We don't all see each other all the time through out the year, but we do all try and get together for the holidays. That's one of the things that the holidays are about, getting together with friends and appreciating how lucky we are to have them in our lives. The presents under the tree are always great, but the real treasures in life are the people in it. Have a wonderful day everyone!

  5. Woohoo!!!! Thanks Sheila and the SGD gang (:
Today I am going to make meat on a stick. I make about 6-7 batches and that is what I take to all of the family potlucks. Mice and easy when they are made ahead of time.
Went to my hubby's Christmas work party last night. He just started at a new company 3 months ago but we met some new people and had some fun (:

  6. Today I will be shopping for some stocking stuffers. We always open the stockings first Christmas morning. When I was pregnant for my daughter I sewed a stocking for her first Christmas. It was made of quilted red patterned material with a green cuff and lace trim. It is almost 2 feet long. We use it every year and it is quite special to her and I now. One year we had our Christmas items stored in an outdoor shed and a mouse got into our stockings. This mouse chewed a hole right in the heel of my daughter's stocking and a hole in the cuff also. I was so upset but I washed the stocking, found some holly patterned material and patched up the holes. It actually looks even better now with the green patches on the heel and cuff! I have photos of my daughter when she was little with the stocking on her foot, it actually went up to her thigh. A few years ago she put the stocking on her foot again.(PHOTO!!!)She is 23 now and still loves that stocking and I love all the memories it has created.
It gives me lots to scrapbook about!

  7. Congrats to the first two winners!
Each year, during Advent, we sit together, light the candles and share something that we are thankful/hopeful,etc. for. We drink egg nog and eat gingerbread cookies. It's a nice little quality time together.

  15. Those would be so cool for mixed media and art journaling! I'm trying to get a bit practicing in this week, as our church has assembled a choir for this Sunday, which I will be part of.
