Summertime yellow

Hello Stampers and Happy Spring!

I had a great time colouring this little cutie in bright, spring colours with my Copics!  This card was for a class I taught last week.  I wanted a really vibrant yellow for the dress, that wasn't pastel, and that still had lots of depth.  I was pretty happy with how she turned out.  And I was so excited with my R30's - I think they made just the perfect shade of strawberry pink.

Hi everybody! Hope that you're having an AMAZING weekend!!!

SGD Diva Kim and a bunch of my besties  are here with me in Kingston at my annual VICTOPIA weekend!!! So wish you were here Shiela and Andi!

For my card, I used this adorable Perry on her Laptop, from the Uptown Girl collection.  I coloured her with my touch markers. The fabulous DP is from the Bo Bunny Weekend Market Collection. This one is from the 6x6 pad. How about that fabulous flourish. It's a Memory Box Die-Macarena Corner Die. All of this fabby paper and the die was delivered in my Designer box from Scrappin' Great Deals! I Paper pieced the Chair, sponging the edges with Brown Bag ink from CTMH!. Corner Punch by SU! Copper embellies by CTMH! I used a touch of Viva Pearl ben to make the buttons on her pants in Kiwi.  Fun stuff! Circle dies are from Spellbinders!!!

I So can't wait to create more fun stuff with amazing paper collection!!!!

Thinking of you!

Good morning, ladies! Another Friday, time goes so fast!
Today I am sharing a quick card with you, I used a Memory Box die and made a background with Tim Holtz distress ink, peeled paint and tumbled glass and a little bit of lavender. The embossed background is from a Sizzix folder. The flower has some Viva glass effect drops and some pearls in the left corner.
Quick and easy, let's hope Spring will be here soon with warmer weather!! That will make my farmer happy for sure, lol! Have a great day, Anja

Moments in Time

I had a fantastic weekend at Scrappin' Great Deals first ever Retreat!!!  Loads of laughter and a ton of crafting!!  What could be better!?! I managed to put together a few layouts using the upcoming May Scrapbooking Kit.   I can't share those yet, but I can share this one, titled "Moments in Time":

It uses a ton of Prima product, as well as some Glitz and Ranger Co' ordinations paper.  The purple flowers started off as plain white, they are from Prima, (Aspen White Parisa Flowers), and I coloured them using Dusty Concord Distress Stain.  (Purple just happens to be my Benny's favourite colour.) I used some Glitz paper to roll my own flowers, and also tucked in some smaller Prima roses.  Lots of layers, punches, spellbinders, MFT dies, bling...... I still have purple fingers from the distress stain!!!

Hope you have a great day!

Beautiful Butterflies

For those of you attending SGD's weekend crop, I hope that you're all have a FABULOUS time!!! Wish I could have been there! Sorry I've been a bit of a stranger as of late, but i'm back in full force and can't wait to share some fun new projects with you!!!

This project was completed with the following products currently available at SGD!

Stickles-Black

The paper is an older paper that I had by SEI, but Shiela is carrying so many pretty paper pads, that you can surely find one that would work really well with the Butterflies, or you can simply stamp and colour them in! I totally LOVE the sentiment that Kim from MFT has included with this set. I very much respect Maya Angelou and her words are very inspiring.

SOOOO did I tell you HOW EXCITED I am???? Diva KIM is coming to my place next weekend for a Stampin' and Scrappin' fest!!! Along with some of my other besties, the creativity in the room will be unreal. I'm sure I'll have lots to share with you and maybe they'll let me play show and tell with some of their creations too!!!!
Happy Stamping!

Hello Stampers and Happy Monday!

Boy, it's a windy one here in London, phew!  Don't blow away out there!

This is a card I created for a class I am teaching next week - my monthly "Copic cards" class.  last month, I had my students vote on stamps for the following class, and this lovely lady was one of the winning stamps!  This is a brand new Mo Manning by Penny Black!  Don't you just love her?  I have a personal quest to constantly find stamps for my Copics that aren't cutesy little kids.  Now, don't get me wrong, I ADORE my Magnolias and La La Land kiddies.  But, sometimes you just want a change!  With the new releases, Penny Black has had some AWESOME new images!!  I just love them!  And then there are my beloved Paper Smooches, oh how I love thee... I just can't get enough!  We got two more brand new sets in today!  Hurray!  And I HAVE to mention Hero Arts!  Once resigned to Michaels-type choice in my opinion, they are now WOWING me with their phenomenal stamps!  And matching dies - and amazing inks - and outstanding open line images for my Copics - that aren't even people!  Be still my heart...

Stampers - never before have we been so spoiled for choice!  And SGD has them all!!

So - this lovely lady on the bike - I am in a "yellows" mode lately.  I'll post another image shortly with my bright yellows.  This lady needed some more subtle tones of yellow, so I went for more of a muted look.  The key to this is using only one or two colours at the most - with the rest very neutral (here I've used W's and E's).  One thing that will really elevate your colouring is to keep your shades to a minimum.  Of course, not your Copic tones - I still like to use 5 or more in an area - but number of colour choices in an image.  Here there is really only yellow - with a tiny bit of pink and green.
Colours:
E01, E00, E000, R20
Y26, Y23, Y21
E44, E43, E42, E41, E40
W4, W2, W0
YG25, YG03, YG00
R35, R32, R30
BG10

I've kept the layout really simple - to focus on the colouring.  And also as it's for a class.  Now call me crazy, but we will attempt to finish 4 images!  Phew, wish us luck.

And - if you haven't already heard - Suzanne Dean will soon be again IN THE HOUSE - AT SGD!  Oh yes - I just confirmed the date with her this weekend - and we couldn't be more excited!!  August 11 is the weekend - and she will be running three fabulous workshops with us!!  DO NOT MISS IT!  Last year we had folks from across Canada join us for this unequaled workshop.  Sign up quick - we sold out last year!

How to use the bow easy and my new Ribbon Carousel!

So much to share today!!! First I made this video to go along with last week's promo where you could get a Bow Easy for free! By the time I got the video edited though the promo was over. That is Soooo Me! LOL!!! I hope you enjoy it anyway and here is a good tip for you. Grab your Bow Easy and try it along with the video. Stop it after each step to give you a chance to try it. Do that a few times in a row and I swear you will feel the lightbulb turn on and you will get it hee hee!!!

Speaking of ribbon....I have long wanted a Ribbon Carousel and was super happy when Sheila got some in. I grabbed two packs of wooden spools and my new ribbon display and skipped happily all the way home. Since I have OODLES of ribbon I put on my RC primarily my twine and washi tape rolls as I reach for them the most. In fact I love it so much I may have to get another one for my grosgrain ribbon! She still had one in stock last time I checked..you may want to grab it before I do hee hee!!! Happy Saturday!

Elegant Friday the 13th!

Happy Friday! Another week flew by....I was working on a flower making card class, handed it in on Tuesday and on Thursday it was sold out...wow, I am so flattered!!Thank you , ladies!! I have booked a second class for Wednesday, May 2 from 10 to 12 AM. Please bring your own flower making tool kit and the Mc Gill flower making mat, we will have lots of fun! I will have everything precut for you, so that we can focus on how to make the flowers.

So while my scraproom is a big mess, flower dies everywhere.....I sat down last night and played with the new die from Cheery Lynn, I cut out 2 bigger flowers and 3 of the smaller size, the leaves were cut out twice and cut up to fit under the flower.A few ferns were added from the EK mini fern punch. Designer paper from Echo Park, some cream Viva pearls, MS borderpunch, sentiment from Just Rite, ribbon from my stash.

See, you can never have enough flower dies or punches...just saying! By the way, lots of the dies are on sale, 25% off, so this is a good time to get yours! Till next time, Anja

Wonderful Wednesday

Hi Everyone,

Here are the 2 projects that we did for Wonderful Wednesday.

This one I used the alcohol inks on the glossy paper and then stamped the butterfly on top.

Inks: Black Archival, Ranger Alcohol Inks,Espresso, Raisin and Pesto
Stamp: Stampendous Butterfly Post
Glossy Paper
For the base of the card I used the DCWV Cream Card making Pre-Scored Card Stack. These make for s quick card base. No cutting or scoring.

For the second project, we used Flower Soft glue on the tag first. Put a few drops on tag and spread with finger. Let the glue dry.
Then you take the blending tool and spread the distress inks over the whole tag. The two colours I used were Barn Door and Rusty Hinge, Then I took the stamp and inked it with the archival black and just stamped on tag. Love the effect.

I hope you try these two techniques. Have fun. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Kim

Bellas & Copics

Hello stampers!

Happy Easter!  I am thrilled to have a long weekend - to catch up on my time with my boys and my friends, to sleep in, and to craft!  Oh - and a little chocolate in there too, tee hee!  And - possibly - some late night insomniac online shopping!!

I've really been in a Bella mood lately!  I'm also spending lots of quality time with my beloved Copics.  I'm super psyched to be going to the Copic Basic & Intermediate certification courses in Toronto next month - so I've been trying to practice when I can.

To get back into my stamping groove, I coloured these two lovelies for the pure joy of it.  I didn't write down a THING - wow - talk about unusual!  I just went with my mood - and brought in some  yellows, peaches, and light greys, warm and cool.  That's just what I thought these pretty images called for.  I'm really into the more muted tones lately with just a little pop of colour.  Copics have such a fab range of browns, greys, and greige options.  I'm even opening up to their yellows lately.  I'm still not quite there with the orange and peach tones, but I am happier than I was - I think bringing in the little pop of Prisma really helps perk them up.

I happened to pick up this gorgeous 6x6 pack last week - all my latest happy colours in it - and of course the latest hot commodity - chevrons!  This is Plumeria by Basic Grey, who I'd kind of written off lately, especially as I'd been so distracted with all the scrummy MME from CHA!

Lots to look forward to - with my Copic certification courses coming up - and got my registration to CHA this week as well!!  It's going to be the Spring and Summer of Crafting - hurray!

Happy Sunday!

Sarah

Tree full of blossoms!

Happy Friday! Today I am sharing a card which Andrea did yesterday for Therapy Thursday, I have her permission, lol! It has been a busy week for me and I did not get any time to craft, mind you, I had a whole weekend of scrapbooking so I shouldn't complain!

I love this card, I have added the sentiment from Just Rite, Happy Everything tag kit and some bling from my stash. The Arboscello tree is a Memory Box die, I cut those detailed dies out with a piece of wax paper on top of the paper you wanna use, this way the tree falls out so easily. A lot of the dies are in the store now!!

Andrea showed us the proper way to use Flowersoft, which is on sale this week so check it out, she told us to tap on the glue a little bit at a time, put the flowersoft on top and tap it off, do not pad it down......well, it worked a lot better for me and some other ladies, but I have to admit some people used more glue and did pad it down and it looked fine too, lol!!

So try it out and have fun! Here are the colours used for this card, for the blossoms Sweet Pea, for the grass I mixed Christmas green and Shamrock green.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend, Anja
