Bella Bella Nutcracker

Hello Stampers and Happy Monday!

I cannot believe that we are already so close to Christmas, where does time go?  Blows my mind.

Anyway, this is my way of slowly "easing" myself into the Christmas theme with my cards, because I'm not quite ready!

Here is a card I taught in class last week.  We did three Bellas with Copics and the same colour scheme.  This is "Nutcracker" from Graphic 45.  I hadn't used much from this company in the past.  But after CHA this summer, I am seeking them out!  Their booth was AMAZING - just blew my mind.  Definitely my fave from the show.

The stamp is Uptown Madison has a Margarita by Stamping Bella.  I apologize, the Bellas sold out after my class, but I'm sure she'll be back in stock soon!

The sentiment is from Joyful Greetings by Paper Smooches.  Paper Smooches are definitely my favourite sentiment stamps.  I love the fonts!

Have a great week!

Romantique with Couture Creations!

Happy Friday! Today I am sharing a romantic, feminine, elegant card with you. After seeing the new Couture Creations embossing folders I just had to make one of those cards. I simply embossed a white piece of paper, added the strip with dots on the top to hide a line that wasn't supposed to be there. With twinkling H2O I put on a bit of pink, sparkled the rest up with diamond Stickles, added a bow, and a sentiment from Just Rite and some Viva silver pearls. Voila, all done!
Have a great day, Anja

This border die from Sizzix (658253 Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die Halloween Shadows) is just the the cutest...

I used the phrase and trick or treaters and papers from The Paper Loft to make my card. I used a Sizzix Framelits Circle die to make a stencil for the moon and then sponged the sky background.

Idea-Ology Tissue Tape!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!  Today I am sharing a way to use up your stash of tissue tape, washi tape, trendy tape....by whatever name it goes by, I know you have some hoarded away!   I used some Idea-Ology Tissue Tape (Tim Holtz of course!)  and made my own background paper.  Here is my project:

I used white cardstock under the tape as this particular brand is tissue and transparent.  I just laid down the tape in strips, wrapping the edges around the back of the cardstock and voila!  Your own background paper.  I did a second piece and ran it through my Cuttlebug with my Romantic Rectangles Spellbinders die, and layered it with some Bo-Bunny Double Dot paper.  I then stamped & embossed on the top piece using the snowflake from my new Tim Holtz Christmas Blueprints set.  A simple little bow from American Crafts Ribbon just finished it off nicely!

Enjoy your day and get creative with your stash!!!!  Stop hoarding and get crafting!!

how to make glittery European flowers!

Hello Stampers!

It felt so good to sit down and spend some time crafting (finally) and make this card!  I have been so busy lately and have really missed spending time in my craft room.

I LOVE Magnolia stamps - just adore them.  And this new release is "Tilda with Ugg boots".  I think she is super cute - and I happen to love Ugg boots too!

I picked up a beautiful new neutral 6x6 pad today at SGD (while checking out the garage sale, of course!).  This is Classic Calico Collection by American Crafts!  I'm always on the hunt for new neutrals because they are my favourite type of card.

I thought I would share with you how my flowers have evolved - and thanks to crafty time with my BFF Andrea - we've figured out some techniques to share with you today!

1.  NEVER cut the stem!  That is mistake #1.  Instead - twirl the stem around a pointer/ quilling tool/ Tim Holtz poker, etc.
2.  Once you've curled up your stem, use the Glue Gloss (this one is the easiest to use for this technique) to dab glue around the edges and tops of your petals.
3.  Dip your gluey flower petals straight into a tub of Twinklets Diamond Dust.  This one is perfectly chunky, not too sparkly, and just right!
4.  Glue your flowers in coordinating colours, in pairs or in threes, using a hot glue gun.  Trust me, you'll want a hot glue gun for this - it is best.  I LOVE the Imaginisce cordless gun!  I take it everywhere!

And there you have it, glittery European flowers!

Happy Stamping!

Tim Holtz Crinkle Ribbon!

Have you ever struggled to find the exact shade of ribbon to go with your card, layout, etc..??  Well no longer!!  Tim Holtz, in the way only he can, has this amazing white crinkle ribbon that you can colour to match your project!

I used Scattered Straw Distress Stain to colour the ribbon for the top of this tag.  Simply lay the ribbon on your non stick craft sheet and rub on the stain.  You can also use any type of mist, or ink to colour the ribbon.  It drys super fast too.  Love how versatile it is and now no more worries that you don't have the right colour ribbon!!!  Make your own!!

Masculine Friday Card!

Happy Friday to you all! If  Mr. Blogger is doing what he says, this post should come up while I am in New York City with my sister from Holland!  I am sharing this masculine birthday card with you, I have used  Just Rite Anchors away stampset, perfect for all the men in your life. I stamped on watercolour paper and used Tim Holtz distress markers with a brush and water to colour it in, weathered wood, antique linen and old paper and vintage photo. The sentiment is from the same set and cut out with the coordinating dies, Vintage Label and Banner dies. The number 75 is also stamped with numbers from an old Just Rite set, the anchor is a punch from Martha Stewart, Darice embossing folder, twine from Sew Easy. I did some sponging around the dies before I took the paper out of the die. It was a lot of fun to make this card, especially with a stamp set that is so versatile and will spike your creativity! Have a great weekend, till next time, Anja
