Mixed Media & Art Journalling!!!

Are you ready to jump in to the exciting world of mixed media & art journalling??!!

Join Kim and I once a month as we experiment with inks, paints, stencils & masks, textures, stamps and so on!!  We are so excited about this endeavour!!!

Our first class is on Saturday, March 16, 2012 at 6:30pm!!

Here is a page from my journal that I started yesterday:

I used 3 shades of Dylusion Inks, a Studio Calico Mister Hueys Bubble Mask and to finish off a little table salt - yes, salt!  That is what the lovely little dots are from, they absorb the ink!  Too cool! I will post it again when I am finished the page, but I was just too happy with it not to share now!!

Colouring With SGD

Good Morning Everyone,

I want to thank everyone that came out yesterday and took part in our Colouring with SGD. I enjoyed teaching with Ranger distress reinkers. Sheila and Lori were an amazing team in teaching the Derwent Pencils. Everyone did a marvelous job colouring with them. Last but not least I want to thank Vicki Garrett for being our guest designer for the copic markers.  She is an amazing designer and teacher. Can't wait to have her again to guest teach for us. Follow her blog here

Just wanted to share with you the a couple of pictures from the day. The card  was done with the Ranger distress reinkers.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Simple Sympathy card

Happy Friday! If all goes well, this post will come up at the right time as I am pre posting this because I am on vacation  in Curacao! Very excited to be able to go to a sunny destination with my hubby and my sister and her husband. But I do have a quick card to share with you today, sometimes  you need a sympathy card, I like to keep them simple, and with the right products it is easy to do that. Here I have used a Hero Arts sentiment, a Martha Stewart borderpunch, Classic scallloped circle large nestabilities, Medallion 5, also from Spellbinders, Viva gold and cream and some paper from Kaiser Kraft. Till next time, Anja

Gift of Love

Good morning every one!!  If you follow us on Facebook you know that Scrappin' Sheila and I spent 12 fantastic hours colouring last Saturday, preparing for our big Colouring Event happening this coming weekend!  Scrappin' Great Deals is now carrying a selection of PENCIL CRAYONS!!!  We have Prismacolour sets in stock now, as well as another type - Derwent INKTENSE pencils, both individual and sets.  I have been playing with the INKTENSE for the last couple of weeks but Sheila hadn't had the opportunity until last Saturday.  I think it was LOVE!!  The Derwent pencil crayons are water soluble but are not water colour pencils - the difference is in the intensity of the pigment.  You can achieve intense colour (hence the name!) with these vs. water colour pencils. Here is the last image that I coloured that day, the new Penny Black stamp we just got in "A Gift of Love":

I really love Penny Black's stamps, so much detail and character - a joy to colour!!!

Have a fantastic day!!!

These are great products to start your Art Journal with. Art Journaling is one of the new hot things happening in scrap booking. Dyan Reaveley shows you here how easy it is:

I am so excited to share with you one of my pages from my Art Journal. I have been sitting back and wishing I could do one. I decided to just do it. This is one of my projects for 2013.

This page I am showing you today is made with Dylusions ink sprays and Tim Holtz's stamps. Love these inks.

I am doing my journal like a Calender. I try and do a double page layout for each month. Easy way to journal your year. Keep you posted on how it is going. Next project, using these sprays with my scrap booking. Oh Lori.......

I love you card using Memory Box Precious Hearts

How cute are these dies from Memory Box!! I grabbed the 'Precious Hearts' die as soon as I saw it and right away knew I wanted to pair it with my fave dies right now- MFT jumbo fishtail banner dies

Using more of my Pink Paislee Secret Crush 6x6 papers I started putting together the card I was seeing in my mind. Thankfully it turned out just the way I wanted ha ha!

My sentiment is from the Paper Smooches Salutations set. Love that this set has something for most occasions- always need a set I can keep out on my desk and can grab when making every day cards.

What are you making this weekend?

Is it spring yet?

Happy Friday!! Is it spring yet? In my craft room it is, lol!
Last week I made a card with this die from Cottage Cutz, daisy doily, today I want to show you another way to use it. Since Sheila has a special going on it the store, wink wink, you might just need this one!
I cut a round card, using my biggest scalloped circle, from the set Scalloped circle large. The flowers are made with the multiflower punch from Mc Gill and the bigger flower is the new Memory Box Phlox. Sentiment from Paper Smooches, stamped on a small oval and popped up. Some Viva silver pearls to finish this card off. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Hey Buddy!

So who "helps" their kids make Valentines for their classmates?! I help to the point of taking over!  I figure it is not homework so it is okay, at least that is the way I rationalize it in my head!!!!!  Here are the Valentine's I made for my younger son's JK class:

I used the Cuttlebug folder Hugs & Kisses to emboss the red cardstock, my Classic Heart Nestabilities to cut out the heart and a Paper Smooches Simply Said Sentiment to stamp "Hey Buddy" (which seemed an appropriate sentiment for a 4 year old boy to give to his friends!).  Next I cut out a lovely little scalloped envelope from a Cheery Lynn die called Scalloped Note and put the little valentine inside:

Wrapped it all up with some Doodlebug Valentine Twine and voila!!!!:

All set for Valentine's Day!!!

REMINDERS:  Today and tomorrow everything in the store is 18% off!!!  PLUS a large selection of Christmas themed items are 30% off!!!   Check it all out here!!

ALSO TOMORROW IS THE DAY WE SELECT THE WINNERS OF OUR BLOG CANDY CONTEST!!!  MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE A COMMENT FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN!!!!

peachy Magnolia

Hello Stampers!

Here is a little Tilda I coloured last week while working on Valentine's cards!  I've been working hard on my ribbon techniques - and feeling much more comfortable with my Bow-easy (what a wonderful little tool).  I've tried to keep the colours pretty soft here, and of course my latest fave thing - a little postage stamp on the corner of the image (this one is Tim Holtz) in Distress Ink (Antique Linen).  I actually took the time to emboss my Nestabilities die this time too - which I rarely do.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Magnolia Tilda with Big Ice Cream
Paper:  Kaiser Craft 6 1/2" paper pad Sweet Nothings
Markers:  Copic
Die:  Cheery Lynn
Ink:  Tim Holtz distress inks (Antique Linen & Tattered Rose)
Flowers, ribbon:  my stash
Adhesive:  3M Scotch ATG & Scotch Scrapbookers Glue
Additional:  Twinklets Diamond Dust (on roses) & Diamond Stickles (on heart)

Happy Monday!

Sparkling blue flowers for Wonderful Wednesday

Happy Friday! I am prepping this post the night before, wondering if this big snow storm is gonna come or not, my kids are hoping for a snowday. In my craft room it is spring, with this lovely die from Cottage Cutz. I cut it from white paper and then I took this little jar Viva inkagold, cobalt blue and my waterbrush and I painted the flowers blue. This stuff dries so quick, you end up with a sparkling flower, sorry , hard to see in the picture. The sentiment is from Hero arts, Sheila just got those in and I am so glad she did, you can never have enough sentiments. I used a Cricut embossing folder on the back, put another scalloped circle behind the die, scored 2 lines just above the sentiment and added some Viva silver pearls. Come on out on Wednesday, February 13 at 1PM and we will make this card together, please bring your basic tool kit and a donation for the foodbank, if you can. Together we can make a difference. Have a great day, Anja

A Hello Card and a Copic Marker App!

Andrea here with today's dose of crafty inspiration.

My goal this year is to get more comfortable going back to my 'roots' of crafting. That would be scrapbooking and cards without colouring. Now don't get me wrong- I am not leaving colouring behind! Just getting back to basics and remembering how fun it is to bang out a card in minutes. Like this one today!

I used some fun, bright and cheery paper from one of my fave companies American Crafts to make my happy card. I kept it simple by also using a matching sticker from the line. My banner is made by using amazing banner dies from MFT- love them! I added a sentiment from Paper Smooches and it was done!

Now on to the Copic Marker App I found online!

A gentleman whose wife buys copics made an App to help her keep track of what markers she owns so that she doesn't buy duplicates- not that any of us would know what that's like right? It can be used for Iphones or Smartphones. This is genius!!! As I already own all the colours...yes...pretty much...I am going to use it to keep track of my refills as I am slowly building up my collection.

Thank you Thank you Thank you to whoever this awesome man is!

That's it for me today. Have a great week!

Andrea

Just Rite Best Wishes

Happy Friday! January is finally over!! It was a long month, we have a vacation booked in February, the first time for my hubby and I to go away in the winter to a sunny destination, so February could not come fast enough for me. I am sharing a card with a lot of my favourites, lol. A stampset from Just Rite, Botanical  Swirls, 2 mini rolled roses from MFT, sorry I couldn't resist using them. Lots of different Spellbinders, you can never have enough, and you can mix them up so easily to get a different look every time. Of course some pearls, Viva gold, an MFT border, a borderpunch, the Martha Stewart fern punch and a 6x6 Kaiser paper pack, all different designs and colours that go together, so easy. I hope you can all stay warm! Happy crafting,Anja
