Art Journal Class # 2

Good Morning and Happy Easter Everyone,

Today I am showing my 2 pages for the next Art Journaling class. We will be using Gesso to make our backgrounds. I will be using stamps and Lori will be using stencils.
If you weren't in our first class, not a problem. You can sign up anytime. Lori and I are sharing with you different techniques and how to use different products in your art journals. We had so much fun in our last class.

It is a little difficult to see but I used the Donna Downey Poppy stamp and bird. Then I used rub ons that I had in my stash for the words.

You can register here. Hope you can join us.

Have a great day and thanks for looking.

La La Land colouring fun

Andrea here to show you my other La La Land card I made in the month of March. This time I used 'Irish Marci' and my beloved Copics of course.

Irish Marci was soooo much fun to colour! I am over the moon with how her hair turned out- and that was only using 3 colours!! I used E02, E08 and E18. This is my new fave combo for red hair.

We still have a few Irish Marci's in stock but I would grab one soon to have her on hand for any Spring, St. Patrick's, Irish or Celtic inspired cards!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Bella Bouquet!

Don't you love this bouquet of flowers?? I do, it is from Memory Box, it cuts and embosses beautifully! We used it this week for Toonie Tuesday, paired with yellow dp and a paper bow, but I had to use it with some pink, lol. Sentiment from Papersmooches and a embossing folder from Crafts Too. Till next time, Anja

Brett and Brenda Celebrate their Anniversary

Hi! Vicki here...long time no see!!!!
I wanted to share another perspective with the Brett and Brenda Stamp
It's not just for weddings!

You can use it for Anniversaries, Love, Valentines and perhaps even for Engagement Cards!

I inked up the image with Memento Black Ink and coloured with my Copic Markers I showcased the image on this fabulous paper found in the Pink Paislee 6x6 Secret Crush Collection.
I created the small heart banner by cutting the hearts out from the designer paper, mounting it on foam tape and attaching it to some curled wire.
Lastly, I sponged around the image and added some Fabulous Donna Salazar  Fairy Dust Glitter in Pralines and Cream. Not only my FAVE ice cream ever, but BEAUTIFUL on Cards!

Happy Stamping!

Vicki

French Country

Good Morning Everyone,

Want to show you the rest of my project I did with the French Country paper from Graphic 45. I painted the match box black and covered with the different patterns of paper. I used real chicken wire at the front of my box. To paint the chicken wire I used gesso and then used my Tim Holtz metallic distress stain to make it look rustic.

I had so much fun doing this project. It is my Grama Whittington in the picture. This is how I remember her.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

New Dies From Impression Obsession!

Hi there! Jeanne here today with a card made with a new die set from

The paper that was used for the die cut flowers were colored with Grape Gelatos. The Cover-a-Card Damask stamp was scribbled with Gelatos ( Grape, Guava and Snow Cone). I misted and stamped. Super easy! Pretty huh?

I die cut my decorated panel with a Sizzix Framelits 6pk Labels, Majestic #2 and attached it to a card I created with by folding white cardstock and then using my Majestic Labels #2 to die cut (make sure your fold is just below the cut line)

Here's a close up of the teeny little flowers. So dang cute!

Other supplies used: CL463 Hydrangea CLEAR Set and CC081 Cover-a-Card Damask

Have a great day!

Having fun with Hero Arts and My Favorite Things

I had so much fun making this Black and White card this week! I will admit I had a hard time not using any colour- not even a pop of pink- and I'm glad I didn't as I love how it turned out.

I knew the design I wanted to show off the stamp style was a window type panel. To create this I used a MFT die that cuts out the four circles and leaves a negative space for you. So no I didn't get out the ruler and use my punches and creative this perfectly lined up piece. Thank you MFT for saving my sanity ;). I have linked up the MFT dies that are currently in stock. The die I used is called Peek a Boo and is currently out of stock but keep checking back as we get them in regularly.

I also used this cute stamp set by Hero Arts that also uses the 'negative' space to show the design. I stamped it using my beloved Black Versafine. The rest of the card embellishments are from my personal stash.

I think doing a two colour challenge card would be fun for all of us! Let me know if you would be interested and if we get a few people we can start a challenge next week!

Happy Crafting- Andrea

Just because.....

Happy Friday! Can you tell we love this set from Just Rite!!! You have seen quite a bit of samples with it! You should really check it out, 36 stamps in one set , so many different sentiments and that beautiful butterfly! Again I coloured the butterfly with a pink alcohol marker first and added some more pink and purple with Prismacolour pencils and Gamsol. I cut out this beautiful die from Hero arts and put it in the corner of the cardstock, with my trimmer I cut it the right size.
Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Happy Birthday

Hi! Jeanne here today.

I created my card by covering my background panel with newspaper and then adding a layer of White Gesso with a paint brush. After the Gesso dried I dabbed paint (Ranger Distress Paint in Spun Sugar & Picked Raspberry) 0ver the stencil (The Crafter's Workshop - Flutterby).

The butterfly was made the same way, cut out and attached to card. I added pearls for the butterfly body. Stamps are from JustRite (Grand Sentiments)

Wonderful Wednesday!!!

Scrappin' Sheila and I are working together for tomorrow's Wonderful Wednesday Project!!!  We are thrilled to be demonstrating Derwent Inktense Pencil Crayons!!  Sheila and I can not stop marveling at how fantastic these pencil crayons are!  (And we want you to be hooked too!!)  Sheila explained them like this: "It is like pencil crayons met Copic Markers in a back alley, and these are the result!"  We will have this lovely little stamped bird from Stampendous for you to colour:

For those of you who have not heard, Scrappin' Great Deals was approached to participate in a large art show coming to London this August - ArtWaves.  Several of our instructors submitted projects to teach and we are thrilled with how many of them were accepted!  We will have more details for you all later.  For now though, we need to video our store, our staff, our customers for a promotional video that ArtWaves is producing.  Today, tomorrow and Thursday, we will be recording our events and having some fun!  We want the world to know how amazing this industry is!!!  So we hope you can join us!!

God Bless

Hello Stampers!

Happy Monday! Last Monday I posted a card made with the same cute little Unity girl and the same beautiful Memory Box die and the same perfect Paper Smooches sentiments. I loved the combination so I made another card with those supplies! This time I used the new Bo Bunny Isabella 6x6 pad (beautiful purple and pink and grey tones) combined with some grey and black card stock.  I've coloured this little cutie with Copics on X-Press it and fussy cut her out. A little tip - use a black marker to trace around the cut edges to give a polished look!

Supplies:

Stamps: I will give you my heart (Unity), Spiritual Sampler (Paper Smooches)
Ink: Memento Espresso Truffle
Paper: Bo Bunny Isabella Collection 6x6 pad
Ribbon: Bo Bunny, black cardstock, grey cardstock
Dies: Astrid Circle (Memory Box), Labels, Majestic (Sizzix Framelits)
Gems: Bo Bunny Isabella

Shimmer Sheetz

Good Morning Everyone,

I had a great day yesterday, Kelly Grace was here to teach us a couple of her technique classes.. My favorite class was the Serendipity Quilt Cards. I got to play with Shimmer Sheetz, alcohol inks and embossing folders. We cut up our creations and formed them in to quilts. Haven't made mine in to cards yet but I just like looking at them. Might just frame them.

Thank you so much Kelly. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Cheers with Darice's St. Patrick's day embossing folder

This past Toonie Tuesday we made this fun card that can be used for St. Patty's Day or just to celebrate any occasion!

This card was made using the St. Patrick's Day embossing folder by Darice and some of the gorgeous paper by My Mind's Eye in the Remarkable line. This sheet gave us both patterns as it is double sided. It makes me grin which is funny because this particular paper is called Smile.

Our sentiment came from one of my go to company's for sentiments- Paper Smooches. I seriously need all of their stamps- is that wrong?

Have a happy craftalicious weekend!
Andrea

You are one of a kind!

Happy Friday! I was so lucky to spend a week at the beautiful island of Curacao, snorkeling, tanning, relaxing, eating.....They love colours at this island, and yellow seems to be one of their favourites, so I got inspired to make this card. The border is from Memory Box, Tessatine border. The sentiment and the butterfly are from Just Rite, Grand Sentiments, 36 stamps in this clear set, you should check it out!! The antenna of the butterfly is a separate stamp, so it is really easy to cut out the butterfly. The butterfly was stamped on Neenah paper with Memento black, then I put down a layer of yellow with an alcohol marker (Copic or Spectrum Noir), then I took 2 prismacolour pencils, a royal blue and an aqua blue and I coloured the edges over the yellow. Then I took a paperstump with Gamsol and blended the colours together, this works like magic. PLEASE REMEMBER TO ALWAYS USE YOUR COPICS FIRST, it will wreck your marker if you use it over the gamsol/pencil. Since I am not really good at colouring with my Copics, there is just not enough time to learn it all, pairing them up with prismacolours is an easy way to blend. Sentiment and antenna is stamped with Versmark majestic blue
Hope you like this simple card! Have a great day, Anja
