Andrea's Project Life- the beginning

I've started
already addicted

just slide them in the pockets

add your Project Life or similar product's cards

add your trip mementos
I used my Tim Holtz stapler
so easy

closeups

It's not fancy
I haven't added a million of the amazing embellishments that you can
I've kept it simple
as I am about a basquillion pictures behind in scrapbooking

Pocket Scrapbooking
I love you

You don't have to do it for each day
each week
or even each month
(though I admire people who do)
you can just use it to catch up on your photos
and create scrapbooks for your family to enjoy
(and you'll enjoy it too :)

So this is me just starting out
Starting with our family trip to Ireland
I hope you don't mind but I am going to share the progress along the way!
Feel free to join me along the way with your own pocket scrapbooking!

Cheers, Andrea

Hello from Oakwood

Good Morning Everyone,

We have been having a great time this weekend at Grand Bend's Oakwood Inn. The service has been way beyond our expectations.  What a great bunch of ladies we have here. It has been a weekend of  eating, creating, eating and so on. This is one of the cards that I made and it will be our Wonderful Wednesday card. I used the Arched Poppies from Memory Box. I can't take all the credit for this card. I saw this card being done on Ellen Hutson Classroom. I thought this is card we should make. What a great way to use up your scraps.

Thanks for looking and have a great day. Keep checking our face book page and blog for retreat updates. Ladies thank you and see you in the fall.

The trouble with packing ...

Happy Thursday! Yippee one more sleep (maybe) and it is the SGD retreat. So, during the weekend I told myself "You will pack early."  I started putting all my scrap supplies in order and then, well, saw this piece and that piece and the next thing I know I am scrappin' away. Here are two canvas' I made for my boys room.

I picked up Prima Color Bloom Spray Sultry Shimmer Cobalt and love the vibrant color. The Viva Decor - Inka Gold - Gold Paint really came out on the  CE Mini Ornament Frame. I used my new Memory Box Stencils Stardust Mini Stencil with Dreamweaver paste mix with Wild Honey ink.  I put my Cuttlebug to work, I love the Memory Box Precious Stars Die and Sizzix Star Die.

For this canvas, I used the mini brick panel from CE. I cut pieces of the panel, painted it black and added a light coat of Viva Decor Gold. The Paper is from Echo Park. I mix Tim Holtz Wild Honey ink with Dreamweaver embossing paste and used Memory Box Stardust Mini Stencil. I used Viva Decor Gold paint on the star and on the edges of the canvas.

Have a fabulous Thursday!

Time Traveller Sympathy Cards

On one hand, I'm not a fan of creating Sympathy Cards. On the other, it's nice to create a handmade card to acknowledge in a special way one's empathy with regard to the loss of a loved one.

I really like the TIme Traveller collection and thought the prints and patterns would be perfect for just this occasion.

In addition to the Time Traveller Paper, I also used Time Traveller Tags and Tickets and 3x4 ATC Cards, Typewriter Keys and Flowers from the Time Traveller Collection.

On the top card, I used a gorgeous Paintable, colouring in my flower with a Gelato.

I created a few cards, as it's good to have them on hand. Sadly, my parents are at the age where they are losing friends much too often. It's comforting to them to send a special card

Sentiments for each card is from Impression Obsession.

You can find the Time Traveller Collection  in the Store now!

Project Life and Oakwood Inn Retreat

Good Morning Everyone,

What a beautiful day, hope you are enjoying it. This morning I want to share with you one of the kits that we will have available to purchase on line or at the retreat. I am sure many of you have heard of project life, well this is my take on project life. I have a lot of family pictures that are not like the pictures we take now. They are not pictures that I want to use on 2 page layouts but they are important enough for me to put them in an album. So Lynn and I came up with our own project life kits.

You will receive 2 photo pocket pages, 2 sheets of journaling designer paper and embellishments to complete these 2 pages. Nice thing about it the backside is already to add more pictures.
Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Art Journal fun through the ages

Last night was Art Journal night at SGD hosted by the fabulous duo of Kim and Lori. I took my teen daughter Jaime along as this crafty venture finally appealed to her. Try as I might I can't usually get her to craft with me but when I told her that Art Journal has NO RULES she was all over it.

And she rocked it

She created the first picture using Dylusions sprays, assorted stamps and Staz On ink. This was her first page and she was HOOKED.

Her next creation is a tribute to her favourite movie Moulin Rouge. Again she used Dylusions Sprays, some of the new Prima Color bloom sprays for the splatters, various stamps, Staz On and then a stencil with embossing paste for the girl outline. When she explained what her page was about on the way home and why she chose the colours and elements that she did I was so pleased to see her express herself this way.

In fact she wants to bring some of her teen friends with us next month! Successful mom/daughter outing! Maybe you have a younger person or an older person in your life who may want to try this as well. This activity truly reaches all ages.

If you haven't tried Journalling yet you may want to think about giving it a try- it is so cathartic. In fact I am still mellowed out lol!!!!!!

Huge thank you to Kim and Lori for all their help with our questions last night. So patient and inspirational! And another thank you to the ladies there last night who made it such a warm and welcoming group.

Cheers, Andrea

A memory box for Mom

Yippee! There are 8 days left until the retreat! I can't wait.

Today I am sharing a box I decorated for my Mom on Mother's day. I had a simple wood box from the dollar store and covered it with BoBunny Paper. I misted the paper with Prima Color Bloom and then used my Tim Holtz Harlequin stencil, and spun sugar ink. I then added trinkets (punched out butterflies, punched out hearts, pearls, keys) and also mixed in some Prima Flowers, Petaloo flowers and pearls.

I then covered all my edges with

Viva Decor - Inka Gold - Old Gold Paint.

Close up of all the goodies added to the top.

Have a great week

Celebrate

I was inspired by Andrea's Watercolour card on Saturday and had to get out mine and play!!  I used the Brilliant Memory Box Stencil to make the rainbow of colours in the background.  Some paper from The Paper Loft that I had in my stash and voila my Mom's Day card was complete in no time at all!!

Mod Flower Die Part 2

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Mother's Day,

Last week I posted a card using the Mod Flower Die, so this is another card I did using the same die.  But this time I made a stencil by cutting it out with scrap paper. You could use stencil paper but it is a little thick and you don't get all the details that is in this die.  I placed the stencil over my Bristol Smooth card stock and sprayed with  Prima's Bloom Spray, Sunshine.   Don't know if you can see in the picture that there is a nice shimmer to the spray. I also used Thanks Cloud from Memory Box for my sentiment. You get a 2 for one with this die. You can use the cut outs together or separately. I used both. I popped up the cloud part.  If you come out to Scrappin' Great Deals this Wednesday you will be able to make this card. Just remember to bring your basic tool kit and food donation for the food bank.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.
