Taylored Expressions - Jingle All The Way

Good Morning Everyone,

Here is this week's Donate to Create card. I used the Taylored Expressions "Jingle All The Way" die. What a sweet little die. I used designer paper from Bobunny  called "Candy Cane" for the background. I love using non traditional colours for my Christmas cards.

Hope to see you out this Wednesday. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Colouring fun with CandiBean

Andrea here on this snowy Saturday to share what I have been up to on my crafting desk lately
I grabbed a CandiBean stamp last time I was in the store- this one is 'Spread a smile of Joy'
I love that sweet little girl!
I coloured her and her snowy friend up with my copics to match the Bo Bunny Altitude paper
I can't get over those rich colours for Winter!
I kept the card simple to get it ready to be handed out soon for the Holiday Season.

Hope you are doing well or almost done your holiday crafting!

Cheers, Andrea

Just because...

Happy Friday! It's good to be back in my craft room, get my fingers messy and create!
I started out with a piece of watercolour paper, 31/4 x 41/2 and I sprayed it with water, then I took my Tim Holtz broken china inkpad and smeared it across the top , then I did the same with dusty concord and mustard seed on the bottom, the musterd seed was very bright, oops, so I put dusty concord on top.
Then I added more water with a waterbrush, let it run a little and then put a piece of papertowel on top to take off the access water.I inked up the stamp with the 3 inks, sprayed some water on it and stamped the image from Penny Black,  a day in autumn, right after that I inked up the stamp with just dusty concord, sprayed some water on it and stamped again. I added some dusty concord in the corners with a sponge. After this step I took the top picture. With the heat tool I dried the whole piece before I stamped again with black Versafine and put black embossing powder on, the same with the sentiment from Just Rite, Graceful Sentiments. I got my spritzer tool out and put the black soot marker in from Tim Holtz and sprayed on some black dots.
Mounted the whole piece on a cream mat and onto a black card base.
Hope you like it! It was fun and easy to do! Till next time, Anja

Let it snow

Oh there is snow in Southern Ontario!
I took some time to make my Christmas cards last night. I used my

Tim Holtz Texture Fades - Brick & Woodgrain Embossing Folders, to create the brick look.

This has to be one of my favorite folders! I used odds and ends to create the star and banner.

It's Hockey Time!!

We are now well into Hockey Season and my son Benny is playing for the first time.  I don't know where he gets it from because we have never exposed him to it.  I never aspired to be a Hockey Mom. He suited up for the first time and he said "Mama, I am gonna be famous!"....with conviction!  I had to capture the moment.  I used the Simple Stories collection "Say Cheese", along with the Bella Blvd collection "Halloween Magic", both collections are great for boy layouts!!

Mixed Media Canvas

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!

I wasn't able to attend Cari Fennell's Prima Canvas workshop in September so I purchased a kit.  At the Fall Retreat in Grand Bend, Kim and I were finally able to play with the kit!  If you can recall, it turned out quite different than Cari's, but only due to the colour choices I made.  That is the great thing about mixed media - you end up with a unique piece every time!!

A Canvas such as this would make a great Christmas present!!!   Some of the supplies used:

Prima Color Bloom Sprays
Prima Modelling Paste
Prima Glass Beads
Prima Bottle Cap Embellishments

"December" Calendar Class

Good morning, all! Today, I wanted to share with you a layout that I created for the "December" Calendar Class using some of the papers from the Simple Stories "Cozy Christmas" line. Rather than go with the more traditional Christmas colours, I decided to focus on gold and cream. I thought that if you printed your photos in Sepia, this would be very dramatic.

I used some Memory Box Ornament dies, the small Blooming Poinsettia die, and the Wink of Stella Clear Brush. I love these Crystals from Prima as well. We will also be stamping and embossing using the Lindy's Gold Embossing Powder.

This class will be on December 14 at 1:30 p.m. Have a great week!

Card for a Friend

Good morning, everyone. Today, I am showing a card that I made using the Sherri Baldy My-Besties Stamp MYB-0111. I love the Faces on these stamps and hope to do a few more cards using the different stamps to have in my stash. Thank you to Lori and Anja for their expertise in using the Derwent Inktense Pencils. I am learning a lot and love colouring with these pencils.

I used the paper from the Graphic 45 Times Nouveau collection. I bought the kit from Sheila and have made a store layout from the Black and Cream papers and now this card. The colours in the collection are beautiful.

Have a good week!

Gelatos sunburst card

Happy Friday! If Mr. Blogger is being nice, this post will show up while I am in Holland.
I have been having a lot of fun playing with different mixed media techniques....for this card I made a background with Gelatos, I put on the colour with the stick and used my fingers to smear it out, its so simple, I tried to create a sunburst effect. Then I sprayed some silver mist over it from Lindy's, a girl has to have some shimmer and glimmer, lol! Sentiment is from Just Rite, graceful sentiments, and the birds are from Joy Craft stamps.Put the whole panel on a black mat, added some twine and put it on a white card base.
                                                          Till next time,Anja

Hi friends,
Today I am sharing a layout I created with a few pieces from Simple Stories - Cozy Christmas collection. I know a maybe a little early to bring up Christmas. But November is the month that we take our family pictures. And I really get excited for the sets and colors.

I absolutely LOVE the Simple Stories - Cozy Christmas - Fundamentals sticker sheet.

I also die cut a few stars and embossed them. I adore the Studio Calico-Wood Veneer ShapesTinyStars

I tried to create a snow effect with gesso

Prima Resin Frames

Hello, everyone! I thought I would take a break from working on layouts and do some altered art this week. I saw an idea on Pinterest where the designer took the Prima Resin Frames and made them in to Christmas Ornaments. So, I decided to make some of my own using the dies and sprays that I have.

And here are the products that I used:

I started by covering each frame with Gesso and then when dry, I sprayed the larger frame with the Prima Gold Foil Spray Mist and the two smaller frames with the Prima Pearl White Spray Mist. Next I cut out the Small Precious Star in white cardstock, covered it with Crystal Lacquer and then with the Stickles Dry Fine Glitter (Star Dust). I finished this off with an Enamel Dot from Simple Stories. For the Poinsettias on the larger frame, I cut out three sets from white cardstock, covered each part with Versa Mark and then the Ranger Enchanted Gold Embossing Powder which I heat set. I finished these off with a small dot of Ranger Liquid Pearls. Lastly, I used an Impression Obsession Rolled Rose die. I sprayed the white cardstock cut out with the Prima Cotton Candy Spray mist. I cut out some small leaves using an I.O. die and covered them with Crystal Lacquer.

I think you could use any of the frames that Prima has out. Sheila has a wide selection of shapes and sizes. I can also see using them in a Shadow Box and having a backing on them with the initial of each family member. Sometimes it is good to "think outside the box" with our crafting supplies.

Have a good week!

Glimmer Sheetz to Donate to Create

Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you are enjoying this frosty morning. Want to share with you my card for this Wednesday's Donate to Create.  I used Elizabeth Crafts Shimmer Sheetz-Gold Metallic on my card. These Shimmer Sheetz are so much fun to use. On this card I embossed a piece of the Gold Metallic Sheetz and then took my sanding block and sand the embossed areas. This took some of the Metallic off and make it so you can see through the card. Some of the other colours it makes the embossed areas white. The back ground paper is from Graphic45 Christmas line, Twas the Night before Christmas. Of course I had to add some bling. Very simple but Vintage card.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Doodlebug Designs Christmas Cards

Andrea here to share some quick cards I made using the new Doodlebug Designs line- Frosty Friends. I can't get enough of this teal and purple collection! I made 8 cards by cutting up strips and quickly attaching them to each card. I then made circles and cut them in half so that my little doodlebug characters were not white on white. A few small embellishments and it's done! Quick cards for gift cards or to tuck in gift bags.

What are you up to today?
Happy Crafting,
Andrea
