Zentangle Inspired Art

Good Morning Everyone,

I would like to share with you today my  Zentangle Inspired Art in my Art Journal. I used the Bloom Girl Stamp "Sharon' to start my page. I love the art journal pages that the people have drawn faces but I  can not draw but with the help with the Prima Bloom girls stamps I can now have faces on my pages.

I coloured the butterflies with the new Dylusion Paints from Rangers. These paints are so nice to work with.  I really enjoyed working on this page. Found it very relaxing.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

More watercolouring.......

Happy Friday! I can't wait for this stamp set to come in, so many ideas to teach a class with this whole set.
Luckily enough, I already have it so the class plans are on the way....It's a Penny Black set.
For this card , I stamped the images in a light colour distress ink, old paper, and then I took some distress ink markers, mustard seed, dusty concord, mild lavender, fired brick, peeled paint and forest moss, just scribble them on your craft mat so you can pick them  up with a fine paint brush.
Since the images where stamped first, I have a guide where to put the colour. For this card I did use watercolour paper. When I was happy with the result, I sponged on some peeled paint, forest moss and finally a touch of black soot in the corners and around the whole card. When it was all dry, I took a small sponge and dabbed on some tumbled glass around the flowers which I then spreaded out with a wet tooth brush.  The sentiment is embossed in black and I messed it up a little bit, its important that all your work is dry before you do this, otherwise the embossing powder will stick to places where you don't want it.(ask me how I know this, lol)
So to make up for this, I scribbled some black distress marker on a block, spritzed it with water and splattered on some black dots. The whole panel is mounted on a piece of shiny black paper and a cream card base.
Hope you like it! Give this technique a try, so easy and fun. Till next time, Anja

Summer by the Sea

Hey!  Vicki here!

I wanted to share how wonderful  Impression Obsession Stamps can work for Scrapbooking! I created this Ocean themed page. The photograph captured one of many beautiful sunsets I enjoyed while in Grenada last winter. I used stamps to create the background textures for the base and panels behind my main image.

The stamps I used included

and

I adhered my picture to the Layout and used Pier Posts to create an interesting embellishment. I gave the post a little more dimension by stamping it twice, cutting out the hemp wrap and adhering it to the main image with silicone! Every Pier Post needs a Bird so I added the tall Heron from the Shore Birds die collection. Finally I finished off the layout by adding the

Summer in Verse sentiment as my title. {yes, I used this one on last challenge! It's one of my faves!

Flower and Ribbon by Prima Marketing!

I was very pleased with the way that the layout turned out and hope that you enjoy it too!  If you are interested in any of these products, Sheila would be glad to get them in for you~

Happy Stamping!

"June" Calendar Class

Good morning, everyone. I spent some time this past weekend working on the next layout for the Calendar class and kept thinking about how quickly the month of May has gone. For the "June" class, I used these papers from the Jillibean "Summer Red Raspberry Soup" Collection as well as the Lawn Fawn "Lemon Polka" paper. Sheila just brought in a selection from Lawn Fawn that are great papers for backgrounds in your layouts. Here is some of the product that I used:

I also got out my Tim Holtz sprayer to mist the doilies and used some of the new Lindy's Pearl Embossing Powder. Here is the layout:

Have a great week, everyone!

Skywriting and Branching Out

Good Morning Everyone,

Kim here, reporting from the beautiful Oakwood Inn in Grand Bend. Another great weekend with SGD. Want to share with you my card for this up coming Wonderful Wednesday. I used one of the new stamp set from Memory Box called Skywriting. Along with the stamp I used  the Branching Out die which is also from Memory Box.

This is a technique that I have not used for a long time. I punched out a circle from a post it note and placed on my card stock before I stamp with Versafine onyx black . Then I take my Punice Stone distress ink and distress all over the stamp area. When you lift of the circle, Voila you have a moon. I added the branches and the birds. The birds are from IO.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Pop pop poppy.......

Happy Friday!! So in love with this Penny Black stamp, pop pop poppy!! I inked it up with some distress markers, sprayed the stamp with water and  stamped. Then I took a small paint brush and sprayed some water on my craft mat and went back in with a wet brush, to soften the lines. I also put on some speckles with the paint brush and sponged on some barn door distress ink in the corners. The whole panel is put on a white card base with pop up dots.
A lot of people are going on SGD' s retreat in the Oakwood Inn, they will have a fabulous time!!!
For those of you who are not going.....(me included), I hope you get some time to be crafty at home.
                                                Till next time, Anja

Dylusions Paints

Good Morning Everyone,

Here is one of my projects that I have been working on this weekend. Had so much fun doing this page. I was so excited to use my Dylusions paints. They are so nice to use. You can watch Dyna Reaveleys video here to see how she applies her paints. I got the idea from Nika in Wonderland, this is her you tube video for her page. I loved working along with Nika to make my page. Along with the paints I also used Dyan"s Shattered stencil. I  used some embossing paste with the stencil, along with the paints to give it some dimensions.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Prima stamps and flowers

Happy Friday! Today I made a card with the coffee stain stamps from Prima, and left over flowers from Prima, I had different sizes and colours and I mixed them all together. So for the background I stamped the medium stamp from the set all over a cream piece of cardstock, I put bronze gelato on the stamp and misted it with water and started stamping without putting more ink on, some memento brown on the edges of the card. Some green leaves were added after I layed out my flowers and of course a few pearls, lol!
The sentiment ( die from Dee Distinctiveley) was cut from creme paper and I sponged on some brown. The card base is kraft. Hope you like it, time for me to stock up on some more flowers!
                                                           Till  next time, Anja

Paints, dylusions and Tim Holtz's flower stamp

Happy Friday! This week at Technique Tuesday we played with Tim Holtz distress paints so for today's card I started with a piece of bristol smooth paper and put on a layer of peeled paint distress paint, sprayed it with water and dabbed a sponge on it. After it was dry, I added some calypso teal Dylusions and dabbed my sponge in it. The nice feature about the paints is, once it is dry it won't change even if you spray it with water or dylusions, glimmermist you name it.
I then stamped the flower twice and embossed it with a dark blue embossing powder, I thought I grabbed a black, oh well , surprise! My plan was to colour the leaves with the white Sharpie, great plan, till I messed up by shaking the pen above my work, a big white ink spot, so I dabbed it and rubbed it with a paper towel.
At last I added some more green paint and rubbed that too with a wet paper towel and voila, I was done!
I had a totally different plan, but I like the result, hope you do too!
                           Till next time, Anja

Kid's Craft for Mother's Day

Good morning, all. Today, I wanted to tell you about an upcoming craft that I will be doing for Mother's Day. We will be creating this Photo Frame/Note Pad craft on Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m. until noon. The back of the frame is magnetic. To create this craft, the children will be using paper punches, a bone folder, and stamps. If they could bring their own two-sided adhesive, that would help. Please sign up no later than Thursday, May 7 before 5 p.m. as I will need a count for the Photo Frame and the Note Pads. There is no age limit for this craft, although younger children may need a parent's assistance.

Have a great week, everyone.
