Home is where the Heart is!

Good morning, everyone! Today, I wanted to show you a kit that I created for SGD using the Prima Collection "Garden Fable". One of the papers is called "Birdhouses" and this gave me the idea to create a layout about our own homes and the family that lives inside. I used the Tim Holtz Mini Bird and Cage die, tags and flower from the same Prima Collection and created the title on my Silhouette. Remember that we have kits at the store for you to purchase. Have a look and as Sheila says "Hug someone you love today!"

Black Magic Technique

Good Morning Everyone,

I want to share with you my project I did last night. I have been wanting to do this technique for sometime so I got out my supplies and voila here is what I made.
First tip I have, you must have a solid image stamp. I did not have one that was big enough for a card  so this is why I came up with doing a book marker. Another tip is, you must have a juicy white ink pad to make this work. I used an ink pad  from Hero Arts called Unicorn. Once the stamped image was dry I then used my derwent ink intense pencils to colour my images. You can use any colour pencils but I love the intense colours they have. I added a garden charm and ribbon that I had made with seam binding and Dyan Reaveley Dylusions sprays. Sorry I forgot to tell you the stamp sets I used. The flowers and sentiment are from Penny Black "Enjoy" set and the butterfly is from Prima. I hope you will give this technique a try.

Hope you will give this technique a try. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Kim

Important ordering information: Please do not include any other products, other than MISTI, on this special order. If wishing to use PayPal as payment - please select "telephone" as your choice & in the customers notes put "PayPal" - we will send the PayPal invoice to you. For you!

Happy Friday! Have you checked the PRE ORDERS lately...oh, so many new things to choose from!
Well, I did and look at this beautiful stamp from PENNY BLACK, it's called The Unfolding, you can still pre order it too, you'll find the details HERE.
I inked up the stamp with some distress markers( seedless preserves and gathered twigs), misted it with a little water and stamped it onto the cardstock, I splattered on some dots and I cut the sentiment with my Cameo.
This is a really quick card, I love how easy it is to get an effect that looks great with little effort!
Hopefully I gave you some inspiration today! Till next time, Anja

"Let It Snow"

Hello, everyone! Here in Southwestern Ontario, after a huge amount of snow fell on us last weekend, I am not sure that we want to say: "Let It Snow!". However, hopefully you took some photos, especially last Saturday, when the sun was shining on all that beautiful white stuff!

I created this kit for the store using the Doodlebug Collection called "Polar Pals". I loved the colours of this collection and the cute snowflakes that went with the collection. I used a die from Impression Obsession for some of the snowflakes and for the title, I used a Lawn Fawn die. See the store website, if you are interested in purchasing any of these dies.

Here is the layout:

Have a great week!

Altenew Beautiful Day

Good Morning Everyone,

Want to share with you my card for this up coming Wonderful Wednesday. I have been hearing so much about these Altenew stamps so I just had to try them out for my self. Well let me tell you, I had so much fun stamping with this stamp set. The set is called Beautiful Day. I linked to the Altenw web site so you can see all the stamps you get in the  set. They are so new they are not on the SGD web site but I do know Sheila has gotten this set in. Not sure how many are left.
I used 6 colours to stamp the flower and the leaves. You use 4 for the flower and 2 for the leaves. I used a combo of inks that I had on hand. You just have to play with your inks to see what colours go together. You can see on Wednesday all the ink colours I used.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

You are my cup of tea!

Happy Friday! Playing with some cute, new Memory Box stamps.....found a similar card surfing  the web....
I cut a label 8 with watercolour paper and sprinkled some ultramarine blue colorbursts on it, sprayed with water and dabbed around with a paper towel.
The bunny with the cups are heat embossed in silver and watercoloured with distress inks:
tumbled glass, dusty concord, evergreen bough, worn lipstick, pumice stone, fossillized amber.
The sentiment is heat embossed in black. After I coloured the bunny, I cut it out with the matching die, I also used the die on white craft foam to pop up the image.
Some twine and sequins to finish of this quick card! I can't seem to be able to link the stamps and die to the website, so I will give you the name and SKU
Memory Box Bunny tea time die set SKU 71368
Memory Box Open Studio Bunny tea time stamps SKU 55386

Good Morning Everyone,

Want to share with you my card for this coming Wonderful Wednesday. I thought I would do a boy or manly card. This is my version of a negative space card. There are a lot of samples on Pinterest. For this one I used circle punches to cut out my shapes and then I used a Memory box die called Antique Gear Set. The paper is from Carta Bella called Sport Stripe.

Beautiful Memories

Happy Family Day, everyone! I hope that you are able to capture some "Beautiful Memories" in photos today.

I created this kit for the store so that you can print and record some of those memories. Limited number of kits are available.

Here are some of the die cuts used in the layout:

I love the Thinlits from Sizzix because they are very versatile. The ones I used in the layout above are from "Adventure" and "Happy Holidays". The Trellis Arch from Frantic Stamper is dainty and gives such a vintage touch to the layout. Hope you like it.

Wool always be friends!

Happy Friday! Sharing a fun card with you today, I wish you could see the sparkle better in the picture, this card will be on display at the store.
Lately I have been on a watercolour roll......so much fun and so many possibilities.
For this card I started with a piece of watercolour paper, size 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, and sprayed some clean water on it, this will make the ink spread out and you have a little control where you want it to go.
On an acrylic block, I put on some distress inks, tumbled glass, broken china and shabby shutters and on another block I sprayed some of the pearl mist from Prima. You can do it on your craft mat too, or on any other smooth surface. I mixed the inks with the pearl mist and dropped it on the paper, just having fun and keep adding ink till you like it, I also splatter on some inks, no technique required, lol. Because you are using the pearl mist instead of water, you will get a nice sparkle!
Set the background aside to dry, and stamp the sheep on a different piece of watercolour paper in versafine black, I heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. The sheep are watercoloured the same way, with the pearl mist, and some pumice stone distress ink and a little bit of worn lipstick for the faces.
The stamps are from Poppy stamps and they come with match dies, so cutting them out is quick and easy!
They are popped up with some foam tape, sentiment is stamped in versafine black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, some sequins to finish it off with some twine along the bottom.
Hope you like it! Till next time, Anja

(Let's show how much we care!! Entry for both Saturday & Sunday is a donation to the London Food Bank by way of non-perishable food or a $2 cash donation which will be collected at the door)
Are the drawers in your craft room bulging over? Is your scrap area overloaded with “stuff?!” Are you ready to clear out your stash that is collecting dust & taking up valuable space – space that could be used for all of those new papers, do-dads and gadgets you’ve been drooling over?! Now is the time to sort through your supplies to make room for the new! It's time to Fall clean your craft area with SGD's amazing Customer Garage Sale!!!

SGD's is once again hosting our incredibly popular customer garage sale for new and/or used scrapbooking, cardmaking and stamping products. So gather up your goodies, read the rules below, stop by the store, and purchase your boxes to receive your vendor number today! Registration to be a Vendor must be completed prior to April 13. The cost to participate is $8 per banker's box or $5 per space if you are using your own BANKER’s sized box (to be fair to all Vendors, random sized boxes are not allowed). Boxes/spaces will be sold on a first come, first served basis. A total of 125 boxes/spaces will be available for purchase. We have sold out each and every event!! If you were a Vendor last year and wish to retain your Vendor number, please contact us asap as spots will go quickly!

How it works .... As a registered Vendor, you will be assigned a vendor number and are responsible to label each item clearly with your vendor number and item price. You set your own pricing. It is the Vendor's responsibility to ensure each sticker (with price/vendor #) is securely adhered to each item. Remember, a lot of people may handle your item, so make sure your Vendor #'s and pricing stickers are secure. You also have the option of choosing a Sunday discount of 25% or 50% off of the items remaining in your boxes. We will not disclose until Sunday morning which vendors have chosen this option - this is a fabulous way to seriously empty your boxes!!

You may sell paper crafting supplies that are related to scrapbooking, card-making and stamping. Examples are cutting tools, working punches, stamps, cardstock, patterned papers, paper packs, embellishments, ribbons, scrapbooking idea books, flowers, storage, etc. No markers, pens, or ink pads are allowed unless they are still in their factory-sealed packaging. No individual sheets of paper are to be sold. All loose paper should be grouped together in packages of min. 10 sheets. They must be in closed plastic bags or similar packaging. Papers that have matching embellishments in the same lot, can be packaged as a kit in a plastic bag and do not have to meet the minimum of 10 sheets. Extra large clear bags can be purchased at the Dollar Store.

One large item that will not fit in a box (ie: storage unit, crop bag) per person will be allowed.

Boxes may be dropped off at SGD's beginning Monday, April 11 at 10am until Friday, April 15 at 3pm. We do not have space to store boxes prior to this date, and we need all boxes handed in by 3pm on Friday in order to set up.

As a Vendor, you do not have to be present on the days of the sale. SGD's will fully staff the sale and track your proceeds for you! You will receive a Scrappin’ Great Deals store gift card for the full dollar amount of your items sold. No cash will be given. You may pick up your Scrappin’ Great Deals store gift card, and your boxes containing any unsold garage sale items, anytime AFTER 12 noon on Monday, April 18. Your gift cards will be ready by 12 noon as we will need time to calculate and activate gift cards. Any items not picked up by closing on Friday, April 22, 2015, will become the property of Scrappin’ Great Deals and will be donated to a charity of our choice. Scrappin’ Great Deals is not responsible for any lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged items due to disaster or theft. No refunds will be given for anyone that signs up for the garage sale but fails to bring in their items.

SHOPPERS attending our Garage Sale .... Entry for both Saturday & Sunday is a donation to the London Food Bank by way of non-parishable food or a $2 cash donation which will be collected at the door. All garage sale items are TAX-FREE. You are welcome to shop using cash, Visa, Mastercard or Debit. All items purchased from the garage sale are final sale. Payment for garage sale items cannot be made using a SGDs gift card. And remember, on Sunday several Vendors will have marked down what is remaining in their boxes by 25% or 50% ... !!! This is a win-win for everyone!!! To be fair to all Vendors & fellow-shoppers, there is to be no hoarding of items. Only take items from the boxes that you are truly interested in.

February Calendar Class

Good morning, everyone! Well, I am back from Florida and ready to get back into scrapbooking. Today, I wanted to share the layout that I created for the February Calendar Class. I used the "Mon Amour" Collection from Graphic 45. We are going to use two Valentine stamps from Prima and the Black Wink of Stella pen to colour the Wood Veneer Arrow from Studio Calico. Notice that we can adapt the "Valentine Girl" stamp to just "Valentine" if that fits your photos better. I added in some black Doodlebug doilies, a black patterned flower from Prima and a few die cuts using some Memory Box and IO dies.

Hope you like the layout. The class will be held Sunday, Feb. 21 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Quick and simple watercolour wash background

Happy Friday! Today I pulled out my distress markers and watercolour paper, I simply scribbled on some green and 2blues. You can use other brands of water based markers, like Tombo, too. Then with a paint brush I blended the colours together, using LOTS of water. The next step is the hardest.... let it DRY, lol.
By using lots of wate, the blending will keep on going after you are done. It's a really simple technique.
The birds from Memory Box and the sentiment from Just Rite are stamped with versamark and heat embossed with black embossing powder. Final touch, some silver Viva pearl dots.
Hope you will give this technique a try, have fun! Anja
