Hanging on to summer

Happy Friday! The weather has been so nice here, love those days! I am so not ready for summer to be over so I am pretending it will go on forever, lol! Last week I taught a class about watercolouring the Art Impressions way, so much fun and today I am showing you another card with Art Impressions stamps. They are made to watercolour, just enough accents where you need them, so your watercolouring experience can be stress free! Instead of using the Marvy markers we used Tim Holtz distress markers, another way to use those great markers. What really helps is the right paper, you can find it HERE. You colour on your stamp with the markers and with a damp brush you "soften" the colour. The idea for this card is cased from the website from Art Impressions. The stampset I used can be found here.
Sentiment is from Just Rite, the palm tree from Memory Box, the birds are done by hand.
The colours I have used are: vintage photo for rocks, tumbling glass for water, stormy sky for clouds, peeled paint for grass, walnut stain and forest moss for palm trees, scattered straw for sand.
Enjoy this nice weater! Till next time, Anja

  1. hi anja! love your card! i recently discovered art impressions and am loving the watercoloring, but with distress markers as well (instead of the marvy ones). one thing i am having trouble with, is that the distress markers seem to be *too* reactive with water, so with a damp brush, softening the color seems to blend it too much into a blur. i have tried using less water, but perhaps i need to practice more? did you find that with the distress markers, you have to have even more control on limiting the amount of moisture you use?
